Woohoo! We let Barney play with knives!

We paid Barney back for inciting a riot the other night. First my Woman put a sweater on him. It came from Angel Catie Catelyn and was sweeter than Barney, that’s for sure. We made him go out in the yard and cut down our Christmas tree! And my Woman gave him a Swiss army knife to do it. I hoped he’d cut his femoral artery or his jugular, but no such luck. I picked the tree. It was so big because I wanted him to be out there for a very long time. He was. He was gone overnight.  Here is the tree:

Then just to be a smartass, he cut down another tree and stacked it for splitting next summer.

We made Barney haul the tree to the house. He had to trim off some low branches.

After Barney brought the tree inside and made my Woman a hot buttered rum and massaged my feet and rubbed Evelyn’s belly, he got a little rest. My Woman went potty while I dozed off. He took advantage of the moment to make more trouble.

I let him have it, though. I’m faster than lightning!

He finally got done decorating the tree and we let him take a nap. What a PITA this guy has been!

  1. Dakota that is pawesome that you made him cut down the tree! I’m glad you didn’t let him get away with decorating you with lights. You and Evelyn need to tear into him! Cant wait to see what you all do next!

    1. Chili, Evelyn and I can’t be with Barney at the same time. For some reason he kind of inspires bad behavior out of both of us. When I’m alone with Barney, I just sniff him. I’ve never known how to play with toys since my first people were mean to me and didn’t give me toys. However, I will sniff him to death!

  2. Oh man, I wish we had Barney around here to put our tree up for us. (My mom said she’d love to get him to do her Christmas cards too…)

I can’t believe he tried to decorate you too, Dakota. What nerve that little bastard has. You shoulda let him have it!

Next time send him out overnight without the sweater!
    Kisses,

  4. Oooh! What a great idea – we missed our chance to have Barney cut and stack all our firewood for the winter!! Keep that little purple dino working – best thing for him!

    1. Lylee, do you need firewood? Your feet are always wet and you’re always posing for your pretty pictures there at the seashore. I hate water. I think I’m allergic. Firewood, though, I like! I sleep 22 hours a day in front of burning firewood. Ahhh…

  5. Haha. Putting the dino to work. About time he earned his keep (he’s racked up significant postage expenses by now I’m sure).

One thing I’ll say about the purple dude, though – he knows how to make a fashion statement. He’d be a hit on a celebrity red carpet magazine spread.

    Thanks for the day brightener!!

  6. D Dawg…you best get rid of that pesky purple fella! He doesn’t seem worth all the “help” you are getting from him!
